    Description

    Chi Wara
    - Bamana Tribe - Mali. Condition is Used. This is an unusual Chi Wara in that there is an additional section of a carved human head and antelope horns inserted between the main body and head. This chi wara is carved of wood and decorated with fiber. The top head and body represent an aardvark. The sections are held together with staples (which are missing on the top piece). The sculptures' dimensions are 15" x 22" x 3.25". The age was estimated at mid 20th century.
