For Sale Today:
A bronze human sculpture, appearing to be a soldier or guard.
Provenance: Purchased from a dealer at a Pennsylvania Flea Market.
Presumably African Benin culture, dating from the 19th through early 20th century.
A great object for study, repair, or display, this will make a nice addition to any student or appreciators collection of African art and artifacts.
This piece does not stand on its own. Significant damage, including a crack down the neck and chest, a missing beak and toe, probably missing a creature on the back. Exhibits signs of age such as surface wear and weathering. As they are part of the description, please enlarge all photographs to better ascertain details and condition.
