Antique Victorian Silver Plate Epergne Centerpiece with Cut Glass Center Bowl & 2 Side Bowls
My Mother always said that an epergne was like a beautiful sculpture – with or without flowers. This epergne is a wonderful example of a lovely silver plate sculpture. It is graceful & statuesque in appearance – placed by itself as a centerpiece on a dining table or paired with candle sticks or vases. It sits on 4 ornate feet & rises from the base to a perfectly balanced pair of silverplate holders for small bowls – one on each side of the center trunk. It extends up to a single silver holder for a large centerpiece bowl. The silver plate is beautifully etched & scrolled. This statuesque epergne is stately in presence – a unique combination of masculinity & femininity in design. It is in excellent antique condition - without any repairs or issues.
