Description
Diana Crosby Ye Old Boston Maid Beautiful Porcelain Doll 18" 1967 UFDC (G1 00H)"This is a rare and valuable treasure and a part of doll history. Diana Lence Crosby, from the famed Lence doll making family, made the porcelain shoulder head for the 1967 UFDC (United Federation of Doll Clubs) convention as part of a kit. This was a limited edition of 1000." One of the kits containing this porcelain shoulder head , arms and legs (designed by Crosby) was made into THIS full doll - She has a porcelain shoulder head (what Crosby designed) and porcelain shoes on legs and feet , arms and hands (ends of pinky finger and ring finger on right hand are broken off). Heavily stuffed cloth body (
body by Mary F. Russo of Newtonville, Mass. - tagged on her bottom).
Very rare fully dressed - many of the heads did not survive to make a full doll. Lovingly handmade and stitched clothes - pantaloons, slip, underskirt, gray skirt, gray jacket and white small shawl. A very good collectible hand made doll for the collector.
